*Spoilers Below*

I cant believe there are now only two more episodes of season 7. This new shorter season thing is really not working for me. Episode 5, 'Eastwatch', was definitely a set up episode for the battle next week, fellowship of the night vs. the white walkers. Overall, I thought it was an okay episode. A bit of a bummer compared to last week's field of fire, but still enjoyable nonetheless. For my recaps, I'm going to do a 5 best moments and 5 worst moments. So without further ado, here they are.

Top Five Best Moments

  1. Brans warging into the ravens while watching the night king's army. As you may or may not know by now, Bran Stark is one of my favorite characters. I've been disappointed in how the show has treated, and not even really explained, Bran's powers. However, I thought it was cool to watch him warg into different ravens till he found the night king and his army. Bran is a underused and under appreciated character, his powers are so important yet this was the first warg we have seen him do all season. Good thing it was a cool one.

  1. Jon and Drogon. He smells that Targ blood. I loved how calm Jon was going to pet a Dragon, and Dany's look on her face when Drogon lets him. I do not think Jon will find out his a Targ until next season. I'm not sure how he will react, but I don't think it'll have a huge impact right away, Rheagar may be his biological father but he ain't his daddy.

  2. Jon and Dany talking, looking at each other, doing anything with each other, really. I am Jonerys trash. If you are trash for them too, enjoy this little note from the script about Jon and Dany's scene watching the dragons; "He watches her watching her dragons and wishes that he could keep looking at her and forget about the world events weighing on his shoulders."

  1. GENDRY. THE WARHAMMER. What's up with him loving King Robert, though? Robert def would have never cared about him. Regardless, it was about time he finally came ashore from rowing all these years. Now that he's back, I'd like a Arya and Gendry reunion ASAP please.

  2. Jamie and Tyrion seeing each other again (for the last time?) was a great scene and also really moving. I may or may not have teared up a tiny bit.

Top Five Worst Moments

  1. Well, this is more of a critique but you're telling me Jon has been around Sansa, Brienne, The Hound, and Gendry without any mention of Arya?! First, he didn't even know she was alive. Second The Hound, someone who traveled with her for quite a long time, doesn't ask Jon about Arya? Gendry doesn't mention to Jon that his sister saved his life? Sounds fake but ok. I'm getting kinda sick of the lack of logic that goes on sometimes in this show. Speaking of logic...

  1. The not so stubble dropping that Rhaegar had an annulment was goofy to me but after the episode and seeing other peoples reactions on Tumblr, I realized that this annulment does not make sense for several reasons. First, Rheager denouncing his first two children with Elia Martell? He believes his son, Aegon, to be the prince that was promised so what would that make Jon to him? Did he do it just so that his son wouldn't be a bastard? After he becomes king, he could have legitimized him though so that doesn't make much sense, either. Second, why would a maester annul a legal, consummated marriage? It all seems a bit weird to me. For why annulment wouldn't work in the books, check out this Tumblr post.

  2. Winterfell scenes. I hate the dialogue that goes on between the Stark children. None of it seems to true to their actual character. Arya would never suggest beheading people for speaking their mind. She is not a bloodthirsty killer. I know the Stark tension is just a filler plot line, but it has been like watching a train wreck.

  3. Arya getting out Littlefingered by Littlefinger? The girl that trained at the house of black and white? Hmmm, if you're sure D&D. However, who knows, maybe next weeks episode will finally be the one where Bran tells them that Littlefinger is not to be trusted and they all decide to get revenge on him together. One can only hope.

  4. WHERE IS GHOST? WHY DOES EVERYONE TRAVEL SO FAST? WHY DID THIS SEASON HAVE TO BE 7 EPISODES EVERYTHING IS BEING RUSHED. Okay, so that was three, but still.

What were your favorite and least favorite moments? For next weeks episode, who do you think is making it out alive and who do you think will be facing their death beyond the wall?

Till next time, xx.
