"autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower " -albert camus

It's that time of year again...the weather is hot, the days are long, and I crave that fall aesthetic. The smell of falling leaves, pumpkin pies, sweaters, costumes, and the most important..a hot pumpkin spice latte. Ugh! It may be my last summer as a free college student, but I cant shake that fall feeling. I think I thrive when the weather is chilly and the trees look like a favorite palate of mine.

This fall is the start of my senior year and while I push the idea of graduation and adulthood out my mind, I'll spend all my time and energy planning my Halloween looks, as one does. I have been super inspired by the 70s, so look for a post sometime soon about my Halloween costume inspirations. As my last Halloween at college, it should be a spooky weekend to remember.

I know that I shouldn't wish away my summer, but..it's been a long one and I'm ready for a change of pace. In the summers, I am alone a lot. Normally, I would be okay with that. Part of my personality is the need to be alone at some point in the day, it's when I am most myself. But, I've been on break since May and the alone time is starting to take its toll on me. It'll be nice to be back around my close college friends and to get distracted by the new semester. Until then, I'll be listening to Autumn Leaves by Nat King Cole. I would recommend you do, too.

Here's a list of things I see in my autumn dreams....

  • pumpkin spice everything

  • try this recipe

  • stews, breads, dark beers, & mulled wines

  • I plan on trying this recipe for stew

  • a trip to salem, massachusettes

  • halloween costumes that go hard

  • the changing leaves & the autumn breeze

  • PUMPKIN PIE

  • to wear the numerous boots I own

  • new stranger things season (and my other fave shows back on tv)

  • spooky scary skeletons on repeat
